Trip Overview

Tsum Valley Trek is journeying to one of the remotest Himalayan valleys that was a restricted region in 2008. The word "Tsum" in itself implies clear which resembles the vibrancy in culture, history, and normal magnificence that the spot views.

An isolated hidden Shangri-La offers the wild nature, lustrous forests, hills, and the unique Buddhism culture prevalent in this region in the shade of mountains is a treasure that makes this valley a hidden gem in the Manaslu region Nepal.

Tsum, a relatively unexplored ancient valley, comprises some of the untouched antique villages and Tibetan monasteries waiting to be explored. Each day travelers need to walk between 6-8 hours, reaching one of the largest monasteries of the region-Mu Gompa.

Tsum Valley is still an undeveloped valley; however, it has preserved its unique culture, and most hospitable people offer us friendly welcome in the traditional way to their home can be somewhat rudimentary, and you can expect to eat similar food to the locals including Dal Bhat, noodles, Tibetan bread, eggs items, pancakes, etc.

You will be accommodated in local lodges/teahouses and traditional 'homestays' on this trek, rather than in tents.

The journey continues via pine, fir, and rhododendron forests along raging with cascading waterfalls and incredible suspension bridges fascinating villages and several Buddhists monasteries, Gompas, Mane walls, and Chortens and even a Milarepa's cave witnessing the several mountain ranges of Himalchuli (7,893m), Ganesh Himal (7,140m), Manaslu (8,163m), Church Himal, Sringi Himal, Boudha Himal, and the Poshyop Glacier too.

The surroundings and people in this region look completely distinct from other parts of the country. This is because the people from the Tsumbas community reside in this area belonging to Tibetan origin with their ancient form of dialect, art, culture, and religion. Therefore, you need to have deep passion and sound stamina to complete this trek successfully.

An epic journey to Tsum Valley begins at Soti Khola, an 8-9 hours' drive from Kathmandu. Then, the trek ascends to the Budhi Gandaki valley via the well-mentioned trekking trail amid forested lands, terraced lands, local villages, and lustrous hills. As we leave the main Manaslu Trail for the Tsum valley, we suddenly feel genuinely entering the hidden valley.
