Trip Overview

For the nature-lovers like you and me, Sundarijal-Chisapani-Nagarkot Hiking is an ideal destination that combines the incredible glimpse of nature with the few local hamlet explorations. The sublime sunrise view from Nagarkot and the pleasant forest walk along the Shivapuri National park are full of surprises. The chirping birds in the silence of dense jungles make the milieu melodious and captivating. Plus, the mountains from the northern Himalayas peek at you several times on the way. This is just an awesome experience.

Sundarijal-Chisapani-Nagarkot hike lasts for 3 days and can be attempted by anyone. It is cost-friendly and welcomes outstanding natural panoramas. No matter how busy you are, 3 days hike cannot be a timely demon (taking more time) and is a perfect feat to mingle in the natural vivacity. As for most of the trek, Spring is the best season to go for Sundarijal-Chisapani-Nagarkot hiking, but still, winters and autumns can be good times to attempt this hike.

Early in the morning, we wake up in our hotel room and kick-off on a drive to Sundarijal. It is a marvelous place, mostly influenced by the Buddhist culture, as you can see prayer flags and monks- in maroon costume- all around. We begin our hike to Chisapani from this point.

Sundarijal to Chisapani follows a scenic route, along the unstoppable stone stairs that continues up to Chisapani. It is a pleasant walk through the woods of rhododendron. Firstly, we will head on towards the entrance of Shivapuri National Park, which shows us a further way to Chisapani. And then, we will continue walking along the beaten trail, until Chisapani, for the next couple of hours. The route is well-defined, and the surrounding vistas are incredibly awesome, which makes this hike so popular among the domestic travelers as well. It takes about 5 hours to reach Chisapani from Sundarijal. Chisapani is a Sherpa hamlet, overlooking gorgeous mountains of Langtang and Gaurishankar region.

Especially, the evening sunset view is greatly admired from this viewpoint. During the peak seasons, Chisapani is crowded by trekkers, hikers, and holiday travelers from all around the world. Stay at one of the lodges at Chisapani for the overnight stay.

Overnight at:Chisapani

As most of the hikers do, we will wake up at the crack of a dawn to hike towards Nagarkot. Today, the trail is quite physically demanding because it takes about 7 hours to arrive at the hill station of Nagarkot. But, no worries; the sceneries are brilliant enough to make you forget the exhaustion.

Most part of the trail until Nagarkot is through the forest of the Shivapuri National Park. This setting is completely natural and pure, enough to drag your mind, body, and soul into that wilderness. For the lunch, you will stop at Chauki Bhanjyang, and then continue your walk up to the Nagarkot.

Nagarkot is a fantastic viewpoint to witness the spectacular sunrise from behind the far-reaching mountain panoramas. So, you will make your stay at one of the lodges at Nagarkot.

Overnight at:Nagarkot

Early in the morning, we will wake up to witness the grand sunrise from the hilltop of Nagarkot. This view is incredibly fascinating.  As the sun mounts over the snow-clad ranges, the milieu turns into golden, all of a sudden. This is one of the soul-piercing views of nature.

You may hike towards the Changunarayan temple, explore it and then drive back to Kathmandu. Or, if you feel too much exhausted, then you may as well go directly to Kathmandu.

We had a great 3 day trip with Holy Mountain treks. We booked the trip prior to arriving in Nepal as we had limited time and found the team really helpful via email with itinerary suggestions Ramesh was our guide and did a great job throughout the trip. Ramesh was really helpful and shared lots of useful information with us and helped us to take lots of great photos. Ramesh was also able to give us lots of good tips for future longer treks in Nepal. If you are short on time I would definitely recommend this hike as it gave varied landscape and an insight into peoples lives as a some of the trek is through local villages. Overall we can thoroughly recommend this company and Ramesh who went above and beyond to give us a great trip and experience. We cant wait to come back and do a long trek and wouldnt hesitate to book with Holy Mountain again.
