“Visiting the historical sites in Kathmandu valley is like wandering in the medieval period.”, thousands admire. Over dozens of architectural marvels (7 of which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites) within the valley alone speak how true the statement is.

On this day, we won’t be able to accommodate your visit to all those sites because of time constraint. However, we will take you to the best sites among bests: Pashupatinath Temple (sprawling collections of sculptures and inscriptions), Swayambhunath Temple (Vantage point of Kathmandu valley), Boudhanath (massive mandala), and Patan Durbar Square (Ancient Royal Palace of Malla dynasty built in Newari Style architecture).

If you wish to visit all the sites in Kathmandu, we can customize your itinerary. Feel free to mail us.

Early in the morning, you will grab a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

As you ascend over the crowded city of Kathmandu with a scenic glimpse of thousands of randomly scattered houses among the paddy fields, the flight gets more exciting. Soon after you rise above the clouds, edgy lush mountains become visible and give a breathtaking outlook. Finally, after about half an hour, you make a landing on the daunting runway that ends with a mountain.

Thereafter, porters, guides and trekkers saturate the beautiful Lukla. But we make a head start towards Phakding on the very same day. Soon after leaving Lukla, beautiful mountain ridges dominated by Nupla peak (5885 m) comes into view. Suspension bridges and woods become a constant companion until you arrive at the valley of Dudh Koshi from where the ridges of black rock (Lumding Danda) appear spectacular. At the end of the day, you will arrive at Phakding.

Our guide will accompany you towards Yeti Mountain Home (YMH), where you will enjoy the luxury of Mountains.

Like a usual day, you set off early in the morning towards the bustling city of Namche Bazar. In the village of TokTok, you will encounter a beautiful cascading waterfall, which falls on the ground after two giant leaps. Few settlements among the lush woods feature the village. Following the same trail that leads to Namche, you will capture a first Himalayan glimpse of great Thamserku glacier wall (6618 m) on the way.

Subsequently, you will cross a suspension bridge and climb up towards Monjo. Behind Monjo awaits Jorsalle, which is also the entrance point of Sagarmatha National Park. The woods through this NP are literally uninteresting. By the time you come out of the NP, beautiful Namche comes into view. Arriving at Namche, you will realize that Phakding was a quiet village.

You will be escorted to your hotel to enjoy the grandeur of Himalayas.

Namche is a perfect place to acclimatize. As it receives most sunlight, this region is considerably warmer. Trekkers climbing in the Everest region make their appearance twice in this village. Also, it is the trading center of the Khumbu region with a long trading history, where most of the goods are traded. Therefore, this village is more crowded than any other.

Climbing high and sleeping low is considered the best way to acclimatize. Therefore, you will hike around the beautiful Khunde and Khumjung on this day. There are monasteries, Chortens and prayer flags to keep you in awe throughout the trail. Also, you will get a wonderful view of Namche from different sides. Sunset view is often admired in this region. So, make sure you keep your eye alert at the end of the day.

For the overnight stay, you will be transferred to the Yeti Mountain Home (YMH). Enjoy the luxury.

Namche Bazaar to Debuche follows a steep trail. Crossing few suspension bridges and settlements, you will arrive at a viewpoint from where Mt. Ama Dablam appears dominating the eastern skyline along with other snowy peaks- Lhotse Shar, Thamserku etc- offering a breathtaking outlook. You will traverse a few Gompas and certainly prayer flags around the gompa. Prayer flags make every gompa look beautiful and vibrant. Spin the prayer wheels and subsequently, you will make an appearance at Tengboche. If time isn’t the issue, make sure you visit Tengboche Monastery, largest one in the Khumbu region.

After a short walk from Tengboche, you will destine at Debuche for the night stay in Himalayan Culture Home or Rivendell Lodge.

Debuche to Dingboche is quite a nice ride or maybe not if you had already begun feeling the symptoms of altitude sickness. Following a series of switchbacks, you will walk parallel to the gorgeous gushing river along several lush woods. The scenic glimpse of forest on the other side of the river appears amazing especially with those snowy ridges on the background.

By the time you come half the way to Dingboche, you begin to experience chilly weather. The vegetations get sparser relative to what you have seen below and finally, the desolate rocky plains become all that you see when arriving at Dingboche. Dingboche is an amazing place to make a stay.

Our guide will direct you towards Hotel Summit for your luxurious stay in the Himalayas. Remember the more you soar higher, the amenities and luxuries become relatively sparse.

Acclimatization is absolutely necessary for you because you have already gained a very high altitude. Ignoring acclimatization may simply make you the victim of altitude sickness, which may even become fatal.

Dingboche is perfectly suitable for acclimatization. You may hike up to the Nangkartshang Hill from where rocky ridges suited in snow appear mesmerizing. But the climb is surely not the easy one. Every step feels like pushing a car alone. Stamina tells you to quit but once you rise up on the small plateau of Nangkartshang, the pain is gone all of a sudden.

There is also a beautiful mani wall in this village. The wall is formed by the piling of stones that were removed from the field during plowing according to the locals. Such a perplexing wall captivates your soul without a doubt.

For the night, you may revel in the grandeur of Hotel Summit.

From Dingboche, there are two ways that lead to Lobuche. We hit the shortest trail of two and then, proceed along a series of ups and downs. The path is jagged and steep making it more difficult to climb. Around the trail, then all you see is rocky hills and snowy mountains. This is perfectly an isolated setting where there is just you and mountains. No sound except the hurling wind.

After a while, you will cross Thokla pass and make a short but arduous climb to Lobuche.

For the night, you will make your stay in Himalayan Eco Resort.

Walking Hours:7-8
Trek Distance:12km/ 7.5 miles
Altitude:4,910m/16,105ft

Overnight at:Lobuche

The trail gradually rises from Lobuche along a perfectly rugged and barren land. Greenery is almost entirely out of sight. The only thing that comes visible is the snowy peaks. These views are the source of encouragement for climbing even higher. Before arriving at Gorakshep, Mt. Pumori dominates the range of other snowy giants-Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse- over the black rocky Kala Patthar hill. Finally, you will arrive at Gorakshep.

After resting there for a while, you will kick off your ride to Kala Patthar. It is the vantage point to see spectacular mountain ranges including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam and zillions of other unnamed peaks rising above the snowscape plateau. Everything looks amazing there, especially during sunset when the snow turns reddish in color. After spending quality time there, you will descend to Gorakshep for your luxurious stay overnight at Everest Inn.

(Remember, visit to Kala Patthar during the evening may be postponed if weather goes out of order: windy and during snowfall. So, the itinerary may be altered slightly in case the nature behaves unexpectedly.)

This day is quite special like the previous one. Before the sun mounts up over the horizon of snowy pinnacles, you hit the trail to Everest Base Camp (EBC) to see the Himalayas when everything around turns golden and shiny. This is amazingly captivating and can be the best moment of your life. Nothing comes into view except snow and snow-lovers. This is the outstanding feature of being on Everest.

Finally, you make a return trip to Lukla via helicopter. The helicopter takes you over mighty snowy ranges and offers an eagle view of Khumbu region. Isn’t that great? As soon as you land in Lukla, our guide will escort you towards the luxurious hotel, Yeti Mountain Home (YMH).

(Note: your itinerary is customizable. If you wish to return by trekking, then feel free to tell us. Your cost depends upon the services you receive. Expelling the helicopter ride may reduce your cost.)
