Trip Overview

Bhutan, the land of eastern Himalayas is the land of Thunder Dragon. It has been referred to as the land of the wonderfully hospitable people and mesmerizing landscapes and unique culture. This wonderful place was once visited by the great mystics, pilgrims, scholars, and saints from the diverse countries. This country contains some pristine gems of the mountains.

On your five-day tour, you will explore fortresses, monasteries, astonishingly well-maintained culture and way of living there. Stunning views of the Himalayas in the short hikes during the journey are mesmerizing.

This journey covers the major two cities of Bhutan-Paro and Thimpu.  Bhutan has only an International Airport in Paro. Paro has some Dzongs as well. The explorers will visit the farm houses, rice paddies exploring rural life therearound. You can even visit the traditional woven garments, colorful prayer flags on high mountain slopes, natural environment and more. Local folk dances, religious mask dances and cultural shrines offer you the life experiences.

As you fly to Paro, the aircraft marks the Himalayan Peaks offering mesmerizing views of the Himalayas as, Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks. Upon your arrival, you will be warmly greeted and welcomed by the guide and shift you to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. Overnight Hotel in Thimpu

Your trip commences after the first meal. Today you will visit Memorial Chorten (built-in memory of the third King of Bhutan who reigned from 1952-1972), Nunnery temple, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Folk Heritage Museum and the School of Arts and Crafts (popularly known as the painting school).

After having a soothing lunch, you will make a visit traditional paper factory and Kuenselphodrang overseeing Thimphu valley and where giant Buddha statue is under construction. This statue will be 169 feet tall and is presumed to be the largest figurine Buddha statue worldwide. Subsequently, you visit the royal Tashichhodzong, the seat of the national government. Later in the evening, you can amble over Thimphu city and fascinate the lifestyle of the people. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.

You will drive back to Paro today. After checking into your hotel, you will visit the Ta Dzong, once a fortified lookout tower which has been changed into a National Museum now. This museum offers a wide assortment of ancient paintings, armors, philatelic display and “field of Buddhas”, which helps one to visualize while meditating.

Afterward, you will walk down the trail to visit the Rinpung Dzong meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels" which has an extended and enthralling history. Lengthways the wooden galleries lining the courtyard of the Rinpung Dzong are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist wisdom. Then, you will descend reaching the road point crossing the wooden bridge.

Once you take to lunch, will visit Kichu Lhakhang, the eldest and most sacred temple in the country. Afterward, you will be taken to the ruin Drugyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort), which was built in 1646 to honor Bhutan's victory over Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.

After breakfast you will hike to Taktsang or the “Tiger’s Nest” Monastery hovering unsteadily on the cliff 900m above Paro valley. This monastery is the most renowned monastery in Bhutan.  It is said in the 8th century, Guru Rinpoche, the spiritual master flew on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands.

 Your lunch will be in the Cafeteria Restaurant, situated about halfway up on the mountain. Before hiking back, you will explore the monastery, and if you wish, you can sit for a short meditation. This is a bizarre conclusion to your vacation in Bhutan!  Overnight hotel in Paro.

After breakfast, you will be shifted to Paro International Airport for departure. Our representative will bid you farewell.
